    Grounds

    2023 Captain: CARLTON DANIELS

    DESCRIPTION:

At the end of the day, we all love a pristine clay court...right?? While some may believe "magic elves" live behind the clubhouse, most of us know it takes very committed individuals as problem-solvers to make a difference. Up for the challenge?

    Featured Volunteer: Joanne Mayberry

    • Hello fellow Berkeley Tennis Club members!

My name is Joanne Mayberry and I've been a member of Berkeley since 2020.  I have met many of you since then, mostly on the court, and enjoyed some great tennis!

What you may not know about me is that I am a Physical Therapist in my "other life” off the courts.

I have worked as a physical therapist in a variety of clinical settings for more than 30 years. For the last 10 years, I have worked for Kessler Rehabilitation Center in West Orange (across from the Turtle Back Zoo) and treat people with orthopedic, post surgical and sports related injuries.  More importantly, I know first hand what it feels like to have a sore knee, back pain, tennis elbow …etc, but feel fortunate that I have the knowledge to know what to do to prevent these problems from getting worse in order to continue to play tennis and enjoy many other activities in my life.

In tune to “Building a Better Berkeley”, I wanted to provide an avenue to which you can contact me for a free fitness screening or just to ask a question about something that you are struggling with on/off the court.  You can text or call me at 908-577-1998 or email jmayberry18@gmail.com.  We can chat and go from there!

Look forward to a great season!
