Fruit Bowl!

TO ALL OF YOU WHO WERE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2022 ANNUAL FRUIT BOWL TOURNAMENT,  “THANK YOU!”

 

We couldn’t have asked for a better day.  Cool to start and a perfect sunny day to finish.  

 

We had 30 participants divided into 6 teams captained by:   Louise (Tomatoes), Bill (Blueberries), Jill (Kiwis), Beth (Papayas), Peggy (Bananas) and Cindy (Peaches).

 

We played two rounds of games (Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mix Doubles).  Many had played Fruit Bowl before, however this year we had a lot new members join in.

And the Winners...PAPAYAS!  BANANAS were one point behind followed by the KIWIS for third place. Big thanks to all the Captains for navigating their teams.

This event couldn’t work without a lot of help behind the scenes.  Thank you to Matthew for getting all the updates out.  New member, Diana, graciously checked everyone in and distributed name tags.  Cindy organized all the food from snacks to delicious sandwiches, cookies & Drinks.  Everything went with very little left over.  Cindy also provided the team kerchiefs/wrist bans.

Even though Dikki and I have moved to NH, my heart will always be at Berkeley.   As long as there is interest, it is an honor and  pleasure to come back for the Fruit Bowl.  See you next year!
