Berkeley Tennis Club was founded in 1917 and is nestled in the quiet residential neighborhood of Orange, NJ.  Located in the heart of Essex County, Berkeley is convenient to South Orange, West Orange, Livingston, Maplewood, Millburn, Montclair, Bloomfield and other neighboring towns.

Berkeley is one of the few clubs in New Jersey with authentic red clay courts. The 6 clay courts are meticulously maintained and open daily from mid-April to the end of October, weather permitting of course.  There is no better surface for playing tennis than red clay.  Red clay forms a soft surface that allows for graceful sliding, which is not possible on hard courts. The clay slows the ball, extending points and bringing out the tactical beauty of tennis.

As a non-profit, member-owned club, rates are reasonable and members work together to make the Club a wonderful experience. When you become a member, you will have access to the club 24/7.  Whether your interest is singles, doubles, tournaments or ladders, clinics or lessons with our resident pro Bob Bynum, round robins or pick-up games, there is so much to enjoy.

Berkeley is known for its warm and friendly atmosphere.  Come play with your own partners or pick up a game on the fly.  Berkeley Tennis Club is sanctioned by the USTA.
