• Beauty of Red Clay

There is no better surface for playing tennis than red clay, and there is no better club in Northern NJ for red clay than Berkeley in Orange, NJ.

Red clay forms a soft surface that allows for graceful sliding, which is not possible on hard courts.  The clay slows the ball, extending points and bringing out the tactical beauty of tennis.

Play on clay. Your knees will thank you.

  • All Levels of Players

This member-owned club welcomes players of all levels.  Our top players are rated 4.5, and regularly join with intermediates for doubles and round robins.

Our ladders allow any player of any level to challenge another to a game.  Want some excitement? Challenge a hard-hitting half-your-age tyro to a set.

We play singles, doubles and mixed doubles, hold an end of season Tournament and field Women's and Men's Teams.

  • Long Outdoor Season

Berkeley's six courts are open April through October, from 8:30 AM to dusk, 7 days a week.  Last fall we kept two courts open through December, due to the mild winter.

It is rare to have to wait for a court, even on weekends.

  • Membership Rewards

Berkeley is known for its warm and friendly atmosphere.  Come and play with your own partners or pick up a game on the fly. You can even bring non-members a few times a year.

We hold open houses, round robins, clinics, ladders, tournaments, "Heavy Hitter Thursdays," and social events including outdoor BBQs, "Breakfast at Wimbledon," and an annual Gala Dinner.
